Another Love Story are thrilled to bring their roaming mini festival series to the rolling landscape of East Cork to present a new edition of Love Is A Stranger in the verdant and unique setting of Ballyvolane House, Castlelyons, Co.Cork Saturday Aug 16th 2025.
A (mainly) Saturday One Day/Night offering, with very select Friday access available as an Add On – Love Is A Stranger BV offers very limited Day Tickets & Overnight Camping Tickets – complete with a selection of boutique accommodation options unique to Ballyvolane House, which is a historic house packed to the brim with character, and a destination in its own right.
Love Is A Stranger : Ballyvolane House brings the customary mix of ALS magic to bear on a truly beautiful venue, and another carefully chosen selection of contemporary Irish artists & international guests performing across intimate & atmospheric settings throughout the day & into the long summer night.
LIAS BV also comes complete with a complimentary selection of artisan food and drink providers & all of the beauty & richness of the Cork countryside amidst the late summer haze.

The intriguing and breakout merging of widescreen electronica and the traditional Irish cannon from Lullahush [live], more top class groove filled live electonica via Waterford’s Peter Voeglaar [live], alongside further Rebel representation from steel guitar maestro David Murphy and very celebrated free jazz and improvisational drummer Fixity.

We turn into the night with DJ SETS from two absolute stalwarts of the local and international scene.
We are incredibly excited to welcome the unmatchable Optimo [Espacio] for a a first ALS bow in The Ballyvolane Barn as only they can do it.
And, we are, as always, so delighted to welcome back the superb and varied sounds of The Sunday Times – long time ALS friends, and for our money, the best in the game on these shores.
One of the great joys of the Love Is A Stranger events has been diving head first into the rich local scenes.
Love Is A Stranger: Ballyvolane House 2025 will continue to offer a platform for careful selection of top class local DJs – with many to be announced – while also featuring our own in house crew of party starters [and finishers!] The Another Love Story Shift Shack Soundsystem w/ Special Guest Efa O’Neill
All of these incredible artists will feature across a selection of unique and intimate venues, in Another stunning countryside location – with MORE TBA.

TICKETS to LOVE IS A STRANGER : BALLYVOLANE HOUSE 2025
PLEASE NOTE :
• Attendees who purchase Day Tickets will not have access to the Campsite or the Camper Van Area, and will not be permitted to stay on site after the event finishes on Saturday night.
• Attendees who purchase Overnight Attendee tickets have the option to enjoy a morning coffee before the campsite & gates close at 12 noon on Sunday. Attendees must be off site by this time.
• Attendees who purchase Friday Early Entry & Welcome Party Add Ons must hold a Saturday Day or Overnight Ticket.
• To stay overnight in your vehicle you must purchase a LIAS Camper Van Area Pass for your vehicle to gain entry to the Camper Van Area. 1 x pass per vehicle required.
• Attendees who wish to stay in the Camper Van Area overnight must also hold an Overnight Camping Ticket.
• LIAS Camper Van Passes are very limited.
• Campsite / Gates will close for all attendees at 12 noon on Sunday August 17th.

Ballyvolane House is situated in the Co. Cork countryside, 30 mins north east of Cork city, about 10 minutes off the M8 motorway Junction 16.

Day Car Parking is offered for €5 per vehicle.
This levy is to encourage car sharing, and to encourage saving space in a small site.
Attendees cannot sleep in any vehicle in the main car park.
Attendees can only sleep in a vehicle in the Camper Van Area.
You must hold a Camper Van Pass to gain access the Camper Van Area to sleep in your vehicle.

BUS : CORK CITY – BALLYVOLANE RETURN SHUTTLE
We will provide a Pre Booked LIAS Shuttle Bus – for Saturday Day Attendee’s Only.
Bus will depart Cork City early afternoon Sat Aug 16th, returning as the event ends at 2AM.

Box Office & Front Gate will be closed at this point – there will be no further admission after that time.

We will have a selection of local artisan food trucks on site to cater for all your eating needs.
There will also be a very special, bespoke food experience in the wonderful Terrace space of Ballyvolane House.
This will be available as a very limited capacity add on to your Day or Overnight Attendee Ticket.
** Love Is A Stranger Ballyvolane House is NOT a BYO Event. **
There will be a full bar serving beer, wines, spirits, mixers as well as a Can Bar for easy grab and go, and a cocktail bar for something more glitzy.
We have a great selection of partners providing interesting and delicious craft beers and drinks.
Attendees can bring 1 x case of beer / 1 bottle of spirits into the campsite.
No Glass allowed on site.
Attendees will not be allowed to bring any drinks (bar water) into the arena.
LIAS is an intentionally small event, please support us and the event in this matter.
Tap & Bottled Water will be readily available at the venue – please bring a reusable vessel.
Ballyvolane House is a glamping and boutique hotel destination in its own right, and comes with a selection of bespoke options to stay over night.
** You Must Hold An Overnight Attendee Ticket to Stay Overnight at Love Is A Stranger
** Standard Camping (Bring Your Own Tent) is included in the Overnight Attendee Ticket.
LUXURY HOUSE B&B STAY
We are thrilled to offer LIAS attendees a (very limited) number of luxury rooms in the stunning McKenna’s Guide rated Ballyvolane House itself.

Rooms are very limited – and offered only for a 2 night stay (Fri & Sat) including B&B.

BOUTIQUE CAMPING
Ballyvolane also holds a selection of unique boutique camping options on site – with beautiful, cosy wooden Shepard’s Huts and airy Bell Tents – available.
Both come, fully furnished and situated in the gorgeous walled garden of the venue available.
Bell Tents and Shepherds Hut’s are offered as accommodation only (no B&B).

Lovely wooden cabins, situated in the heart of the Ballyvolane Terraced Gardens – a stone’s throw from the action.
Shepherd’s Cabins are beautifully furnished with a perfectly dressed double bed, clothes hooks, mirrors, chairs, and are equipped with lighting, plug sockets and USB ports for charging up your phones and devices.

b) Bell Tent – 2ppl Max (Double or Twin)
These come furnished with :
Bedding, Matting flooring / Low table / Kitchen roll / Bin / Door mat, Led camping light.

You may only sleep in your vehicle in the Camper Van Area.

All attendee’s may be required to show ID before being admitted, and will not be admitted if they do not have proof of age.

Children U12 are welcome to attend Love Is A Stranger.
Each child must be accompanied by a parent / guardian at ALL times.

These are limited in availability due to space restrictons.
Please be aware that this is a gentle day of music and fun in a beautiful space, but please also realise this is a (small) festival setting with music and crowds of people, and the party will get going as the day progresses.
Both. The event is runs across the character filled farmyard, renovated barns and terraced gardens of Ballyvolane House.
There is ample covered space if it rains.
Access from the Campsite is a short walk across a grassy field. Ballyvolane House has gravel paths around the venue itself, and terraced lawns to recline on should the sun bless us.
Yes. Despite some uneven ground, in general the venue is accessable, and the main event spaces are on hard standing.
